Smelling Session in Raleigh, NC

What an incredible experience at The Rose smelling session with the creators and owners of Stock Fragrance in Raleigh! Nathan and Cécile were such gracious and welcoming hosts, making the entire 2–3 hour experience feel intimate, thoughtful, and truly special. There was plenty of time to ask questions, explore scent profiles, and learn about how fragrances are actually created.

The generosity was above and beyond as well, with several complimentary gifts including candles, sprays, lotion, face cream, and more. You can genuinely feel the passion and artistry behind everything they do. A luxurious, memorable experience that I would highly recommend to anyone who loves fragrance, creativity, and beautiful hospitality. And the rose-flavored cocktails and mocktails were so refreshing! Five stars!

It was genuinely one of the most inspiring experiences I’ve had in the fragrance world. In just two hours, I learned so much about scent development, formulation, and how fragrances evolve differently across various mediums. Everything was explained in such an engaging and beautifully presented way.

As someone developing a luxury candle brand, the experience gave me a completely new appreciation for fragrance construction and balance. Understanding how notes behave, shift, and project in different applications will be incredibly valuable as we continue developing products for our brand. It was the kind of knowledge that normally takes years of exposure to gain, yet it was presented in such an approachable and inspiring way.

The generous goodies we were able to take home made the experience even more special, but what truly stood out to me was the opportunity to meet Cecile herself — an actual fragrance designer trained in France. Meeting someone with that level of artistry and expertise felt like a once-in-a-lifetime gift. There are so few true fragrance creators in the world, and hearing her speak about the craft was unforgettable.
