PLANT-BASED SUPERBLOOM (FORMERLY ÉGLANTINE)

MADE WITH 100% PLANT-BASED INGREDIENTS

SUPERBLOOM highlights one of our favorite ingredients, called Rose Super Essence. A Super Essence is made using a two-step distillation process, capturing more of the smaller/delicate molecules from the rose blossom. The result is an ingredient that smells and acts more like the actual flower than an extract. Very delicate, very pure, and at $23,000/kg, very expensive!

KEY NOTES: ALPINE WILDFLOWER, MEADOW GRASS, GÉNÉPI

    • Acceleration: Yes
    • Deceleration: No
    • Ricing: No
    • Separation: No
    • Discoloration: No
    • Behavior Notes: Tested at 3%. Accelerated batter moderately, and brought my batter to a thick trace within 8 minutes. Still allowed for ample time to pour it smoothly and easily into my mold. No discoloration has been noted but the scent is on the lighter side. I’d go up to 4-5% for a stronger scented soap.

Tested by Creamy Obsession Soap. The testing recipe consisted of olive oil, coconut oil, lard, sunflower oil, castor oil, shea butter, mango butter, and cocoa butter. A 1.8:1 water to lye ratio was used, as well as a 5% superfat. All tests were conducted at room temperature, with a range of 85°F to 95°F Every small batch was brought to an emulsion, and then the fragrances were stirred in by hand and watched over a period of time while comparing to an unscented control poured from the same batch. After setting up, the bars were then CPOP’ed in their individual silicone molds in the oven at 170°F for 5 minutes to ensure a full gel. Separate popsicle sticks and pipettes were used for each individual fragrance to avoid any cross contamination.

    • Separation: None
    • Discoloration: None
    • Behavior Notes: Very quick mover, I had to move FAST to get it in the mold

Cold process testing done by @elysianacres at temperatures between 75-85 °F, brought batter to emulsification before hand-stirring in fragrance, using 10% Castor Oil, 20% Coconut Oil, 35% Olive OIl Pomace, 35% Lard, Distilled water Lye solution at 33%, 5% Superfat

    Beautiful and natural

Not so floral that it gives a headache and smells very natural but still lovely.

    The best!

One of my favorite scents! It’s floral, bright, and brings a hint of rose without getting that traditional old perfume smell. It’s perfect!

    Fresh meadows

I really like how this smells... it's hard to describe but my nose detects some green herbal notes, and a bit of floral. It does smell a tad light out of the bottle, so I'll probably use it in lotion.

    Samples

I ordered a sample of this so I could know what size to get. I'm not sure how to describe it but it does smell nice. I will use it for soaping.

    Just meh..

I was really looking forward to trialing this sample but wasn't wowed by the straight from bottle scent. I'm giving 3 stars because I have yet to truly test this in any products. For me this one was just meh..
