Inspired by the sweet smell and soft texture of ribbon cut rolling tobacco, Cécile created this fragrance while still in perfumery school in Grasse. After 21 tries, she finally found the perfect balance and 25 years later, we wouldn’t change a thing (we still have the original hand-written formula).

    • Acceleration: No
    • Deceleration: Yes
    • Ricing: No
    • Separation: No
    • Discoloration: Yes
    • Behavior Notes: Tested at 3%. Slowed down trace and kept batter thin and fluid for the longest time! Did turn my batter yellow when added and discolored to a light shortbread color eventually. This one has a good retention post cure, but I’d go up to 4% for a stronger scented soap.

Tested by Creamy Obsession Soap. The testing recipe consisted of olive oil, coconut oil, lard, sunflower oil, castor oil, shea butter, mango butter, and cocoa butter. A 1.8:1 water to lye ratio was used, as well as a 5% superfat. All tests were conducted at room temperature, with a range of 85°F to 95°F Every small batch was brought to an emulsion, and then the fragrances were stirred in by hand and watched over a period of time while comparing to an unscented control poured from the same batch. After setting up, the bars were then CPOP’ed in their individual silicone molds in the oven at 170°F for 5 minutes to ensure a full gel. Separate popsicle sticks and pipettes were used for each individual fragrance to avoid any cross contamination.

    • Acceleration: None, deceleration possible
    • Separation: None
    • Discoloration: Medium dark yellow
    • Behavior Notes: Instant yellow discoloration in fresh batter, stayed fluid for a long time!
    • Scent strength: Moderately light at 2.0%, recommend 5.0%

Cold process testing done by @elysianacres at temperatures between 75-85 °F, brought batter to emulsification before hand-stirring in fragrance, using 10% Castor Oil, 20% Coconut Oil, 35% Olive Oil Pomace, 35% Lard, Distilled water Lye solution at 33%, 5% Superfat

This is the one you are looking for.

Tobacco and so much more. The rich depth to this one comes through in soap. I do hot process so as not to miss a single note. I used it at 6% first time because I wanted it strong. I will keep it at 6%, I love it!

    Cuba

My son fell in love with this scent. You can smell a hint of tobacco, but it blends well with coconut/apricot wax and in my room sprays.

    Don't judge this OOB

When I first smelt this scent blend on the samples I knew I would love it so I ordered it. My husband and his friends like to have their cigars from time to time & thought "they are gonna love it too!" Well neither my husband nor one of his cigar buddies liked it. I was shocked! So I made a room spray and used it in our fireplace room. Had the same friend over and both became fans of it immediately. So I recommend trying this out (and any fragrance really) in a product first before you judge it.

This scent is a mildly sweet tobacco that is so sensual, in a masculine way. But there is this expensive cologne feel to it w/o it being overpowering. Just beautiful!

Hi Diana, thank you for the feedback and bringing up a very important point! The best way to smell and evaluate fragrance is always in product! Professionally, we never smell pure oil. It's just too concentrated (and strong) and obscures many of the details and nuances that display in finished product. So glad you love CUBA, this is one of our personal favorites : )

    My favorite Tobacco

Cecile you nailed this one. I usually don't like tobacco scents .This fragrance is beautiful. My dad was a smoker. usually cigarettes. He would get cigars or smoke a pipe here and there. This fragrance reminds me of that (not cigarettes) The sweet smooth blend of tobacco with a sensual aroma. I think of cherry pipe tobacco . Ohhh this is delightful, It is probably a masculine scent but I would use this in a spray.
